Remy Martin Champagne Cognac VSOP
 

History:

Remy Martin is a company that sells cognac from the cognac region in France. the company was founded in 1724.
They age cognac between 10 and 37 years (average of other brands is 6 years).
Quality grades for Cognac:
V.S. (Very special) youngest brandy stored for at least 2 years in cask.
V.S.O.P. (Very superior old pale) youngest brandy stored for at least 4 years in cask.
XO (Extra Old) youngest brandy stored for at least 6 years. (may change to 10 years in 2016)
Hors D'age (beyond age) same as XO

Recipes:

Not So Blue Hawaiian: 1 oz. Blue Curacao, 1 oz. Malibu Rum, 4 oz. Pineapple Juice, Remy Martin VSOP Cognac.
Mix first three ingredients in a cocktail glass with ice and then float the Remy VSOP. Garnish with a pineapple slice.

Sazerac: 2 oz. Rémy Martin VSOP, 1/4 oz. simple syrup, 4 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters, 1/4 oz. Absinthe.
Rinse a chilled old-fashioned glass with absinthe. Stir the remaining ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Rémy Martin Lemon Twist: 1½ oz. Rémy Martin VSOP, ½ oz. fresh lemon juice, 3 to 4 slices of lemon, Lemonade.
Squeeze half a lemon into a long drink glass over ice, add Rémy Martin VSOP and top up with lemonade. Garnish with sliced lemon.

Rémy Martin & Mango: 1½ oz. Rémy Martin VSOP, Mango nectar.
Pour Rémy Martin VSOP in a highball glass over ice and top with mango nectar.

Aphrodisiac: 2 oz. Rémy Martin VSOP, 4-5 fresh strawberries, ¾ oz. simple syrup, ¼ oz. pomegranate juice, 1 oz. fresh apple juice.
Halve the strawberries, pour some ice in a highball glass and add the Rémy Martin VSOP, simple syrup, pomegranate juice, and fresh apple juice. Add the cut strawberries and stir. Sliced strawberry as garnish.

French Mojito: 1½ oz. Rémy Martin VSOP, 1 oz. fresh lime juice, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 7 to 10 mint leaves, 3 oz. sparkling water.
Place mint leaves in the glass, add crushed ice, Rémy Martin VSOP, sugar, and lime juice, and muddle. Topped with sparkling water and garnish with mint leaves.

Rémy Martin Jasmine Tea: 1½ oz. Rémy Martin VSOP, ½ oz. simple syrup, Iced jasmine tea, Dash of fresh lemon juice, Slice of lemon as garnish.
Pour Rémy Martin VSOP, simple syrup and jasmine tea in a long drink glass over crushed ice. Add a dash of lemon juice. Stir and add a straw.

Melon Baller: 2 oz. Rémy Martin VSOP, ¾ cup fresh watermelon, ¾ oz. simple syrup.
Shake all the ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass.

Rémy and Ginger Ale: 1½ oz. Rémy Martin VSOP, Ginger ale (or Ginger beer).
Pour Rémy Martin VSOP in a highball or rocks glass over ice and top with ginger ale.
