The Bottle
One shot at a time.
Becherovka Original.

Becherovka was called Kerlsbader Becherbitter. It is a herbal bitters drink often used as a digestive aid produced in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic.
First impression of the flavor is often Gingery or cinnamony in flavor. Made from a secret recipe of herbs and spices.
Contins 76 proof/38% ABV (Alcohol by volume). Usually served chilled, often with tonic water to make a drink called beton (Becherovka and Tonic)
The inventor of Becherbitter was a spice and colonial goods trader. He also produced alcoholic beverages. He rented a still in 1794 to experiment with hard alcohol.
His son took over the business in 1838. between 1998 and 2003 a company sold a slovak version that claimed the recipe was given to them.
They did not have any proof for court, and lost the case. He was sentenced in 2007 by the demazlice district court.
Now only 2 people know the secret mix of spices and herbs used in the drink, and they mix it in secret once a week.
